The walk-in open studios are denoted by green circles 🟢 on the map, while the private tour open studios are denoted by purple stars on the map.

On the weekend of the tour, yellow signs will be posted on uptown streets guiding cars to the studios and also outside each open studio location.

The Uptown Neighborhoods of Santa Barbara

San Roque:

Samarkand:
A charming and historically unique residential enclave known for its safe and quiet streets.

Bel Air Knolls:
A peaceful, upscale residential neighborhood perched high on rolling vistas and grassy knolls with a secluded, suburban feel.

Hidden Valley:
A quiet residential neighborhood offering a private suburban retreat with low through-traffic and quiet cul-de-sacs.

Upper State:
A bustling, energetic blend of premier commerical corridors and quiet, desirable residential pockets.

Foothill/Hope:
A residential enclave nestled in the mountainside with quiet privacy and convenient suburban amenities.

Campanil Hill/Yankee Farm:
An exclusive, low-density coastal neighborhood perched gracefully along dramatic sea cliffs and prized for its privacy and panoramic ocean views.

Hope Ranch:
A prestigious and affluent residential enclave known for its private estates and world-class equestrian amenities.

Hope Ranch Annex:
A neighborhood characterized by wide, quiet streets, mature landscaping, and generously sized yards and a distinct sense of privacy.

San Antonio Creek:
A tranquil, country-like neighborhood nestled in the scenic foothills with a mix of ranch homes, mid-century custom builds and contemporary estates.

El Sueño:
A semi-rural suburban enclave known for its privacy, mature landscaping, and close-knit community feel.

Welcome to our out-of-town visitors! We curated this event with geographic proximity in mind so that you can see the maximum number of artists while minimizing your driving time. To help you plan your studio tour weekend, we wanted to give you an idea of the locations of the neighborhoods that make up Santa Barbara’s Uptown area. Each neighborhood features its own distinct character, charm, and concentration of local talent. The neighborhood descriptions (using borrowed real-estate speak), along with the map below, will hopefully orient yourself to the wider town, and help you plan your self-guided tour.
